After the decision of the Ministry of Education to postpone all the examinations due to the Covid-19 situation, the students of 7 Dhaka University affiliated colleges took the streets of Nilkhet on 24th February.
Amid the postponement of the scheduled exams, the responsible authority of seven colleges and Dhaka University has confirmed the continuation of the prescheduled exams as per the schedule. The decision was confirmed after a virtual meeting attended by Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, the principals of the seven colleges, and the DU authorities on Wednesday afternoon.
Prof IK Selim Ullah Khandaker, the focal point of the coordination body of the seven colleges and principal of Dhaka College says that no new routine will publish soon, but all the pre-scheduled exams are to take place.
After the news got publicized, the students who were occupying the streets of Nikhet and Science Lab for hours called off their protest at around 4.30 PM. They welcomed the decision made by the authority, confirmed by one of the front-line protesters and students of Kabi Nazrul Government College, Abu Hanif.
However, according to the press release by the Ministry of Education, the exams would take place as per schedule, the student hall and dormitories would still remain closed until May.
All the exams must follow all the health safety rules due to Covid-19.
