Sinovac got certified for vaccination

Recently, worldwide the cases of Covid-19 have increased again creating a very tense in Bangladesh too. Seeing what happened in India this year, nobody wants the same to happen in our country too. Thus, our government has taken necessary measures to fight against this virus and one of the important tasks of all is – vaccination. Sinovac got certified for vaccination.

On January 27, 2021, Bangladesh started administering COVID-19 vaccinations, and widespread vaccination commenced on February 7, 2021. Till now 10 million people have got the vaccine doses and around 4.22 million people are currently fully vaccinated. Latterly, in Bangladesh, SinoVAC, the Chinese vaccine, has been licensed for use in an emergency. Sinovac got certified for vaccination.

The Sinovac-Coronavac (Sinovac) Covid-19 vaccine has been available under the Special Access Route (SAR) protocol from June 2, 2021. The World Health Organization has authorized China’s Sinovac-Biotech Covid-19 vaccine for emergency use in individuals aged 18 and above. Pre-clinical trials revealed no safety problems, and the majority of side effects were mild to severe, including soreness at the injection site, headaches, and weariness.

The Sinovac vaccine utilizes an inactivated COVID-19 virus to stimulate the human immune system to produce antibodies against the COVID-19, resulting in immunological response to COVID-19. It is kept at typical fridge settings of 2 to 8°C, much as standard flu vaccines. When the coronavirus is introduced to our body, our immune system produces antibodies that connect to viral proteins, causing our immune system to produce antibodies against coronavirus. The vaccine may be properly administered into the arm since it utilizes a dead or inactivated virus. Our immune system can respond to an infection of the actual coronaviruses by creating antibodies to inhibit the virus if we have been vaccinated with SinoVAC.

This vaccine has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration on Sunday. The director-general of the Department of Drug Administration, Major General Mahbubur Rahman, signed the permission. In 22 nations, the vaccination has already been authorized and it has been mentioned that this vaccine should be given in two doses for those who are over the age of 18.   These two dosages should be separated by two to four weeks. and should be stored between 2 and 6 degrees Celsius. Sinovac’s vaccine has been submitted for approval by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited who are the domestic agents of the company. According to the Food and Drug Administration, five vaccines till now have been authorized to be used in an emergency.

Since the cases of Covid-19 are increasing, it has become extremely important to get vaccinated. Many orthodox concepts have been regarding vaccination which should be overlooked and people should focus more on keeping themselves safe. We need to remember that- vaccines do not only save us from the virus but also save others around too. So, to keep this world safe & sound, the people of Bangladesh should be educated about vaccination procedures and they also should get vaccinated as soon as possible.
